  My wife and I have been looking at flooring options off and on for about two years now. During that time we looked at all the big box stores in town, and even ventured down to Portland and Vancouver a couple of different times. Not only could we not find anything we both agreed on, but we could never get any knowledgeable answers to the questions we had about the differences between products, installation advice, etc.. Fast-Forward to about two weeks ago when we finally decided to make time to check out Sloan's. My wife works normal office hours in Ridgefield, so finding a weekday where we could make it work to go together was the only reason we had delayed so long. Anyway, upon entry we were met by Joe Sloan (Owner). Joe is extremely friendly and extremely knowledgable. We explained what we were wanting to do, and then yammered off a list of questions, all of which he had answers for. Joe then guided us into their showroom and explained how it is laid out (based on material type) and where the pricing information is located for each product. From there, he just let us go at it (alone) looking, touching, comparing, and finding something we both liked. Zero high-pressure sales tactics. We found two laminates that we really liked and decided to take home sample boards of both selections (to see how they looked in the setting and lighting condition of our home). It was an easy decision from there, and I returned the next day and ordered everything I needed. Joe gave us an extremely generous discount due to the quantity we ordered - something I guarantee we would not have received from a big box retailer. It was as simple as that. It took us two years of searching, when all we really needed to do was set aside enough time to spend 45 minutes at Sloan's Floor Covering. If you're looking for flooring, counters, or tile - I'd highly recommend giving Sloan's the opportunity to earn your business!
